Mein Kampf, written by Adolf Hitler in the 1920s, was also published in the Netherlands during the 1930s, despite growing social and political controversy surrounding the work.
The first Dutch translation appeared in 1939 and was published by De Amsterdamsche Keurkamer, a publishing house that operated commercially, offering both foreign and political works. The translation, done by Steven Barends, was intended for a general audience and was often presented as “important literature to understand the enemy,” particularly at a time when National Socialism was gaining ground in Europe.

This is the second Dutch edition of Mein Kampf, published by De Amsterdamsche Keurkamer.
The pages are in good condition, and the text remains fully readable.
The book has some damage to the front of the cover. The gold eagle is still completely intact. The spine of the book is still in good condition, with all gold lettering clearly visible. There is a small tear on the side of the spine, but this is not disturbing. The cover is slightly loose from the book, but overall the book remains sturdy. On the last page of the book, there are some notes about what is discussed on certain pages.

Mein Kampf, geschreven door Adolf Hitler in de jaren 1920, werd in de jaren dertig ook in Nederland uitgegeven, ondanks de groeiende maatschappelijke en politieke controverse rond het werk.
De eerste Nederlandse vertaling verscheen in 1939 en werd uitgegeven door De Amsterdamsche Keurkamer, een toenmalige uitgeverij die op commerciële basis boeken uitgaf – ook buitenlandse en politieke werken. De vertaling, gedaan door Steven Barends, was bedoeld voor een breed publiek en werd vaak gepresenteerd als “belangrijke literatuur om de vijand te begrijpen”, zeker in een tijd waarin het nationaalsocialisme in Europa opmars maakte.

Dit betreft de tweede druk van Mein Kampf, uitgegeven door de Nederlandse uitgever De Amsterdamsche Keurkamer.
De bladzijden zijn nog in goede staat en de tekst is volledig leesbaar.
Het boek heeft wat schade aan de voorkant van de kaft. De gouden adelaar is nog volledig netjes. De rug van het boek is nog mooi, met alle gouden lettering goed zichtbaar. Er zit wel een klein scheurtje aan de zijkant van de rug, maar dit is niet storend. De kaft zit iets los van het boek, maar over het algemeen is het boek nog stevig. Op de laatste pagina van het boek staan nog enkele aantekeningen over wat er op bepaalde bladzijden wordt besproken.
Een bijzondere en zeldzame Nederlandse uitgave die moeilijk te vinden is!
