On April 4, 1807, the Karl Friedrich Military Merit Medal for non-commissioned officers and men was established in two levels, gold and silver. The medal was awarded for special bravery and distinguished service until the end of the monarchy in 1918.

Op 4 april 1807 werd de Karl Friedrich Military Merit Medal voor onderofficieren en manschappen ingesteld in twee niveaus, goud en zilver. De medaille werd toegekend voor bijzondere moed en uitmuntende diensten tot het einde van de monarchie in 1918.
