Item: The Crimea Shield was a German military decoration in World War II, instituted on July 25, 1942. It was awarded to soldiers who took part in the campaign on the Crimean Peninsula (1941–1942). The shield features an eagle with a swastika above a map of Crimea and the word “KRIM” along with the years 1941–1942.
The shield was worn on the upper left sleeve and awarded to members of the army, navy, air force, and some Romanian troops. Criteria included at least three months of service in Crimea, being wounded, or active participation in combat. Approximately 250,000 were issued.
Condition: In good condition, complete with the reverse side intact, and no damage to the cloth.
Item: Het Krim Schild was een Duitse militaire onderscheiding in de Tweede Wereldoorlog, ingesteld op 25 juli 1942. Het werd toegekend aan soldaten die deelnamen aan de veldtocht op het Krim-schiereiland (1941–1942). Het toont een adelaar met hakenkruis boven een kaart van de Krim en de tekst “KRIM” met de jaren 1941–1942.
Het schild werd gedragen op de linkerbovenmouw en uitgereikt aan leden van het leger, de marine, luchtmacht en enkele Roemeense troepen. Criteria waren o.a. minstens drie maanden dienst op de Krim, gewond raken of actieve deelname aan gevechten. Er werden ongeveer 250.000 stuks uitgereikt.
Condition: in goede conditie compleet met de achterkant in tact, ook geen beschadigingen aan de stof
