Item: The Cross of Honor of the World War (often named after its most common award level, Cross of Honor for Front Fighters or Cross of Honor for Front Fighters ) was founded on July 13, 1934 by Reich President Paul von Hindenburg on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the start of the war in 1914 and was an award from the National Socialist era for the Participants and the surviving relatives of participants in the First World War . After Hindenburg’s death on August 2, 1934, the Cross of Honor was awarded “in the name of the Führer and Reich Chancellor”, i.e. Adolf Hitler as head of state.

Item: Het Erekruis van de Wereldoorlog (vaak genoemd naar het meest gebruikelijke beloningsniveau, Erekruis voor Frontvechters of Erekruis voor Frontvechters) werd ter gelegenheid van deze gelegenheid op 13 juli 1934 opgericht door Reichspresident Paul von Hindenburg van de twintigste verjaardag van het begin van de oorlog in 1914 en was een onderscheiding uit de nationaal-socialistische tijd voor de deelnemers en de nabestaanden van deelnemers aan de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Na de dood van Hindenburg op 2 augustus 1934 werd het Erekruis toegekend "in de naam van de Führer en Reichskanzler", dat wil zeggen Adolf Hitler als staatshoofd.
