Item: A Soldbuch was the personal military booklet of a German soldier during the Second World War. It served as both an identity document and an administrative record. The Soldbuch contained, among other things, personal details, units, ranks, pay records, medical information, and decorations.
All branches of the German armed forces (Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Waffen-SS) used Soldbücher. The booklet was carried by the soldier at all times and was essential for pay, leave, and military controls.
Today, Soldbücher are highly valued for historical research and by collectors, especially when they are complete and well documented.
Condition: The booklet is in good condition; unfortunately, the eagle has been denazified.
