Item: De Vliegende Hollander was an illegal resistance newspaper that was distributed in the Netherlands during World War II. The newspaper was founded by the resistance with the aim of informing the population about the situation and supporting the resistance against the German occupiers. The paper was anti-German and published news that was censored by the occupiers. It spread clandestinely and was often dropped from airplanes over the Netherlands, hence the name “Vliegende Hollander” (“Flying Dutchman”).

Item: De Vliegende Hollander was een illegaal verzetsblad dat tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederland werd verspreid. Het blad werd opgericht door het verzet en had als doel de bevolking te informeren over de situatie en het verzet tegen de Duitse bezetters te steunen. De krant was anti-Duits en bracht nieuws dat gecensureerd werd door de bezetter. Het blad verspreidde zich clandestien en werd vaak gedropt uit vliegtuigen boven Nederland, vandaar de naam "Vliegende Hollander".
