Item: The Hinomaru Yosegaki (日の丸 寄せ書き) — also known as a Japanese “Good Luck Flag” — is a unique and emotional artifact from World War II with deep cultural significance.
It is a Japanese flag (the Hinomaru, with the red sun on a white background) on which friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues of a Japanese soldier wrote personal messages, wishes, and prayers before he left for the front. Yosegaki literally means “gathered signatures” or “group message.”
The flag was often folded and carried on the soldier’s body or attached to his equipment. It served as a kind of talisman, a source of moral support and a reminder of home.
Condition: The flag is in very good condition and made of silk. theyre are small tears in the flag but these are not annoying.
