Item: The Luftwaffe Pilot Badge was a German WWII decoration awarded to pilots who successfully completed their full flight training. The badge was instituted in 1936 and served as the official qualification proof for Luftwaffe pilots.
The badge consists of a silver-colored eagle with swastika, set on an oak leaf wreath, and was worn on the left breast above the pocket. Early examples were made of tombak, while later versions were produced in zinc.
It was awarded to fighter, bomber, transport, and reconnaissance pilots. Original badges from well-known manufacturers such as Juncker and Assmann are highly sought after by collectors.
Condition: In good condition, nicely maker marked and in great shape. The catch has been repaired over time using the original hook.

Item: De Luftwaffe Piloten Badge was een Duitse WOII-onderscheiding die werd uitgereikt aan piloten die hun volledige vliegopleiding succesvol hadden voltooid. De badge werd ingesteld in 1936 en was het officiële bewijs dat iemand gekwalificeerd was als Luftwaffe-piloot.
De badge bestaat uit een zilverkleurige adelaar met swastika, geplaatst op een eikenkrans, en werd gedragen op de linkerborst boven de zak. Vroege exemplaren zijn gemaakt van tombak, latere van zink.
